Welcome to St. John's Church
.....an international and
multi-denominational congregation following an Anglican/Episcopal
tradition
Since
1931, the Church of St. John the Baptist has served the community of Maadi in southern
Cairo, Egypt, as a place for
worship and solace. The
church is one of the oldest buildings in Maadi, and our
international congregation welcomes Christians from all
denominations.
Worship
at St. John’s follows an Anglican/Episcopal tradition, which
places focus on word and sacrament.
Music plays an important role and a flexible and creative
approach helps to meet the needs of a congregation from diverse
backgrounds and traditions. We
have a thriving Church School (September-June) and there are a
number of activities and programs for youth and adults throughout
the year.
As
we gather for weekly worship and serve our community, our desire is
to encounter together the living God, enabling us to live as God’s
people, in God’s world, for God’s glory.
We also warmly welcome those who want to learn more about
what Christians believe.
We
believe newcomers will find St. John’s a very welcoming,
encouraging and supportive community! |
