1) Food Package for Refugees
There are over 43,000 refugees living in Egypt today. Many of
them are unable to find work in Cairo to support themselves and
their families and must turn to organizations such as “Refuge
Egypt” to provide basic necessities. “Refuge Egypt’s” food
packages, containing rice, lentils/ white beans, milk powder,
cooking oil, sugar, and peanut butter, are distributed to
refugees in need, particularly single mothers, widows, and those
suffering from illnesses. Your gift will provide one food
package to a refugee in need.
“One man came to us in
desperation, but embarrassed to ask for help. His wife had
passed away and he had five children to feed. We were able to
provide him with food and help him get back on his feet”
Amira, Emergency
Team Leader

Children’s
Club
for an Egyptian
child living in Garbage City
Although Garbage City, on the outskirts of Cairo, has been
growing every year, schools in the area have not been able to
keep up, and many children of garbage collectors have not had
access to formal schooling. Therefore, the “Association for the
Protection of the Environment” (APE) offers a Children’s Club,
which includes a nursery, pre-school classes, a literacy
program, summer school, social activities, and camps and
community outreach. This club works to bring children up to par
with students in other Egyptian schools, with the eventual goal
being to integrate them into the government school system. Your
gift will support one student in the Children’s Club and give
them the gift of education.
“When I first came here I was
just helping to clean the classrooms. Then they told me I could
study and I was very excited. Now I have graduated and I am the
nursery supervisor and I feel so confident and happy to be here”
Mariam, Teacher and former student

refugees
Your gift of a “Baby Bag” for children of refugees will help a

all pregnant women registered with “Refuge Egypt.”
“Sometimes, grandmothers become
